Research Profile

I received my M.S. in Neurobiology from Sri Venkateswara University in India. I moved to the U.S. in 1994 and shortly after began working in the Urology department at the University of Texas, Galveston. There I learned several techniques such as prostate cancer cell culture, transfection, RT-PCR and also worked on prostatitis and BPH models. Additionally, I worked in the Physiology and Biophysics department studying Na+ dicarboxylate co transporters. Following my time at UTMB, Galveston, I took a position at Baylor and worked with prostate cancer mice models and cancer immunotherapy. My family moved to Nashville in 2008, where I joined the Magnuson lab as a Senior Research Specialist. I have been involved in numerous research activities in the lab, primarily in mouse husbandry, micro-dissections, molecular cloning, database organization and maintenance.

Outside of the lab, I spend most of my time with my husband and two children.
