About VanderbiltResearch.org

VanderbiltResearch.org is a pilot program that was launched in response to the refreshing of the Basic Science Strategic Plan for the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which took place in early 2008. At that time, VUMC investigators expressed the need for a web-based platform that would enhance communications, facilitate collaborative research and streamline regulatory compliance.

The vision for VanderbiltResearch.org is to build a platform that will "connect the dots" between people, communities, resources and publications, and to provide this information to users via intuitive, dashboard-type views.

The software for this platform was written by Thomas Houfek, Greg Baboolal, Josh Norman and Chris Howard under the guidance of Jean-Philippe (J-P) Cartailler within the Vanderbilt Center for Stem Cell Biology.

The project was supported by funding to Mark A. Magnuson from the National Institutes of Health, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

We thank Randy Blakely, Ron Emeson, David Piston, Bill Tansey, Billy Hudson, John Manning and Susan Wente for their advice.

Due to the pilot aspect of this program, VanderbiltResearch.org is being developed and rolled-out in a staged manner. If you are a member of the Vanderbilt Research Enterprise but are unable to access the system we apologize.

We welcome all suggestions for improvement.
